Jeff's Guitars!
Jeff has been collecting and trading guitars
for over 10 years and the result is an intriguing group of
guitars that might interest you. Please feel free to contact Jeff
at jeff@jeffslate.net if
you have any questions or comments regarding his guitars.

Jeff is a Gibson/Epiphone endorsed artist.

Jeff is also a Hofner endorsed bassist. He uses a reissue 500/2 Club Bass exclusively for live performance.
Jeff's vintage
collection includes...

A 1965 Epiphone Texan
Yup, the same kind Paul McCartney used on
"Yesterday." You haven't really lived as a guitar
player (particularly if you're a fan of The Beatles) until you've
strummed one of these. It's pretty battered, but it's the real
deal. Just strum anything off of "Revolver" and you'll
hear a sound that's instantly recognizable and that you just can't
get with any other acoustic.

A 1965/6 Epiphone Casino w/ Bigsby
I'm a Beatle-freak, no doubt. But
this guitar has a stunning tone and has really taken on a great
character in the past year or two.

A 1972 Fender Telecaster
Stock, baby! It's completely different than a
50's or 60's Tele and kinda sounds like a transistor radio, but
this guitar has been through hell and back and WON'T go out of
tune or let me down. Amazing!

A 1967 Hofner 500/1
Beatle Bass
Not the year that everyone wants,
but set-up with Pyramid strings you cannot
mistake the tone of this bass for any other. My main bass in the studio with The Badge. Fun to play, to say the least.

A 1973 Rickenbacker 4001MG
This Ricky was a steal, and although it was
after the switchover from "toaster" pick-ups the ohm-age/ouput
of the babies in this bass are just right for that late-60's-early-70's
rumble and punch.

A 1972 Guild F-112
This is a great small-bodied 12-string
guitar, particularly nice for recording.

An early-80's Fender Squire Telecaster
This guitar has been retrofitted
with a mirrored pickguard, Seymour Duncan "Quarter Pound"
and "Hot Stack" pick-ups, Schaller tuners and a Fender
vintage reissue bridge and electronics.

Yamaha FG-310II
This is really my buddy Scott's
guitar, but since it's been in my possession for 15 years I guess
I should include it. A great flat sound for recording and no
fears when travelling make this a must-have for any collection. I've
written most of my "best" stuff on this baby.
Sentimental value? Definitely!
New beauts...

2004 Gibson Les Paul Classic (Custom Shop)
The best Les Paul I've ever played. Period. Everyone who picks it up falls in love with it. Thanks to Pat and Jenny - and of course Henry! - at Gibson USA, and Juliette at Gibson UK.

2004 Rickenbacker 660/12
Gotta have a Ricky 12, right? Well,
since my '66 360/12 moved to Ohio this has taken it's place. It's
a solid-body so IT ROCKS! And it's beautiful, too. Basically a "Petty" model, with the thick neck but without the signature, etc.

2004 Gibson Les Paul Classic '60
The nicest guitar I've ever owned. Courtesy of the fine folks at Gibson (thanks Jenny, Henry and Pat!).
Other oddities...

1940's S.S. Stewart
A really cool old acoustic that I'll
get to the shop one day...

1970's Tele copy
My first electric. I wanted a Tele
SO BAAAAD.

Jeff also uses a Master Sitar, courtesy of guitar design legend Jerry Jones.

The one's that got away...

And my Alvarez electric/acoustic,
or "bad karma" guitar.
